Matt London

Matt London is held in high regard as a classical tenor saxophone specialist and as an aspiring composer fascinated with open and unconfined performance and writing.

With a broad and open minded approach to music instilled from study at the Royal Northern College of Music [MMus Distinction] with Rob Buckland and Andy Scott [saxophone], and current doctoral study at Brunel University London under the supervision of Peter Wiegold and Christopher Fox [composition], Matt continues to explore and develop a forward looking approach to his music.

His debut classical album “SPEAK NOW Music for tenor saxophone” presents a selection of original tenor saxophone works by composers from across the UK.

Awesome sounds - beautifully played.- Clarinet & Saxophone Society Magazine

"Congratulations on your new CD! The album demonstrates excellent playing, new repertoire, and fine musicianship. There are very few tenor recordings out there and I highly recommend this to all saxophonists."

- Steven Mauk, Professor of Saxophone Ithaca College

Recent work includes pieces for Distractfold Ensemble [UK], Marij van Gorkom [NL], Aldeburgh English Project as a Britten-Pears Young Artist 2014 and Trish Clowes’ Emulsion Quartet for the Cheltenham Music Festival Composers Academy 2015.

Matt is a D'Addario Woodwinds Performing Artist.
