David DeBoor Canfield’s Sonata for Tenor Saxophone & Piano is the culminating work in the cycle of sonatas for each of the major saxophones written for Kenneth Tse. It is written in four movements, and contains contrasting styles from freely tonal to very tonal to quite atonal.
Performance notes:
The work was premiered by Kenneth Tse and Linyu Wang at the North American Saxophone Alliance conference in March of 2012.
