Christoph Enzel

Christoph Enzel is the tenor player of Berlin based saxophone quartet clair-obscur and a member of the Echo award winning saxophone orchestra Selmer Saxharmonic.

He regularly performs with various orchestras including the world class Berlin Philharmonic and MDR Leipzig under Sir Simon Rattle, Kristjan Järvi.

With guitarist and composer Justin Lépany he forms the free improvisation duo hydroglisseur.

As an educator he organises and teaches saxophone chamber music, solo and orchestra repertoire masterclasses for Jeunesses Musicales (Germany’s national association of youth orchestras) and Deutsche Bläserakademie (German Wind Academy).

As an arranger he has adapted almost 100 works for various ensembles. These arrangements were commisionned by institutions like the Foundation Berliner Philharmoniker, the Martinu Festival Basel, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Selmer Saxharmonic and the clair-obscur saxophone quartet.

His arrangements are published by Advance Music and Schott.

He has composed an interesting array of chamber music ranging from pieces for solo piano to saxophone duos, works for guitar and saxophone etc.
